Piers Morgan destroys Robert DeNiro over Warburtons bread advert

Robert DeNiro divided fans as he became the face of Warburtons, promoting bread and bagels in a gangster-filled advert.

And Piers Morgan didn’t quite slice his words about the clip, taking a second to express his disappointment in the Meet The Parents star.

Guess he’s well and truly out of the circle of trust…

During a segment on Good Morning Britain, the 54-year-old fumed: ‘If you watch DeNiro in any of the great films he’s been in over the years, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas… And now he’s in a Warburtons bread ad…’

‘I don’t know how much dough rolled in for you, Bobby, but seriously… Really?

‘One of the greatest actors of my lifetime is reduced to making bread commercials in a spoof?’

When Charlotte Hawkins and Susanna Reid recalled Piers’ infamous burger advert – like we could forget – he added: ‘With humble respect to myself, I’m not one of the greatest actors of the 20th century, am I?

‘You know the one who doesn’t do this, who has managed to maintain his integrity and still does outstanding work? Great movie choices, theatre choices… Al Pacino.

‘What a great career that guy has had. He’d never do a Warburtons bread advert, would he?’

Cue Pacino in a bread advert any day now…

Piers also revealed Tess Holliday will be joining himself and Susanna in the Good Morning Britain studio, after he fumed over her body positive Cosmopolitan cover.

After he branded the model ‘morbidly obese’, he invited her to come on the show to have a debate – and she has taken him up on the offer.

‘Why don’t you come on @GMB tomorrow & debate your Cosmo cover with me…,’ he tweeted her, to which she simply replied: ‘Fly me to London.’

Quoting the 33-year-old’s response, he added ‘OK,’ with a thumbs-up emoji.

Does this mean DeNiro will be popping up on GMB soon?

Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays, at 6am, on ITV.
