Peter Kavinsky Cute Moments, To All the Boys Ive Loved Before

Netflix

When The Kissing Booth premiered on Netflix back in May, we honestly thought we’d never see a cuter teenage rom-com again in our lives. But then the film adaptation of Jenny Han‘s best-selling novel, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, swooped in earlier this month and COMPLETELY shattered that prediction. Not to be dramatic, but it’s one of the best books-turned-movies we’ve ever seen. Like, ever. Why, you may ask? Two words: Peter Kavinsky.

The fictional character, played by everyone’s new favorite actor, Noah Centineo, is honestly 2018’s version of Nathan Scott from One Tree Hill. And if you know anything about Nate, you know he’s an INCREDIBLY hard person to live up to, especially in the romance department. So, just like the TV basketball player ruined real-life love for us, the kombucha-drinking, sweet-talking cutie is destined to make us have unrealistic expectations about relationships from now until the end of time.

When he drove her home from the diner.

Although Peter and Lara Jean were still just acquaintances at this point in the movie, he didn’t like that she planned to get home on her sparkly bicycle. That being said, he offered her a lift back to her house and they ended up having a pretty decent conversation, which set the foundation for their relationship.

When he made her picture his phone background.

If you’re planning to fake date someone, you obviously need to have them as your phone background. Peter had the whole thing planned out before entering a friend’s party and he ended up taking this adorable picture of Lara Jean that he had loaded onto his screen in record timing.

When he saved her a seat on the bus.

You get on the bus for a school trip and see this face staring back at you — what do you do? Well, probably NOT what Lara Jean did, which was blow off Peter to go sit with her sleeping BFF, even though he saved her a seat.

When he rested his head on her shoulder.

The ski trip was a HUGE deal for Peter and LJ’s relationship, and this moment on this bus was a sweetness overload. While the pair didn’t sit together on the ride there, they did on the way back and Peter took advantage of the closeness to use Lara Jean’s shoulder as a pillow. *SWOONS*

When he told her she isn’t second best.

You want to know what a guy is SUPPOSED to say to you when you’re questioning if he actually likes you? “You were never second best.” And guess what — that’s EXACTLY what Peter Kavinsky said to Lara Jean when she needed to hear it the most.”

When he did this ICONIC leg maneuver.

THE HOT TUB SCENE, YOU GUYS. Honestly, we start hyperventilating simply at the thought of this bad boy, so you know it had to make this list. Not only did Peter tell Lara Jean “there’s no one like you,” but he also perfectly maneuvered her leg so she sat perfectly on his lap to be in the best position for their first ~real~ kiss.

When he wrote her love letters.

When Peter and Lara Jean were going over the fakelationship contract, he told her he’d write her daily love letters. The heartthrob could’ve easily let this promise go, but he actually followed through and wrote her some of the most awww-inspiring notes, which, thanks to LJ’s litter sister, Kitty, were all saved for her reading pleasure.

When he started a pillow fight.

It’s super attractive when a guy gets along with your family, especially your annoying younger sister. Peter not only cared to make sure Kitty was having a good time during his and Lara Jean’s movie night, but he also moved the popcorn so the pillow fight wouldn’t cause a mess. SIGH. We stan a sanitary sister.

When he did this pocket spin.

We have to give MAJOR props to Noah Centineo for this scene, because he actually came up with it all on his own!

Director Susan Johnson told ET Online, “The spin in the back pocket was also Noah. He did it in the rehearsal and I was like, ‘That is beautiful, we’re going to change the shot around!’ He’s a natural flirt so he knew what he was doing.”

When he allowed Lara Jean to open up.

Lara Jean and Peter’s relationship was filled with cute, flirty moments, but that doesn’t mean their deeper interactions were any less adorable. After Peter opened up about his dad walking out on his family, the brunette beauty felt comfortable enough to share her emotions about her mom passing away when she was young. It was in this moment that we realized LJ and PK had a connection that was MUCH deeper than just a fake romance.

When he stuck to kombucha.

Lara Jean didn’t get out much before “dating” Peter, so he wanted to make sure she had a good time at her first proper high-school party. That being said, he got himself a nice glass of kombucha tea (which is good for the digestive system, btw) while everyone else was drinking alcohol so he could safely drive her home at the end of the night.

When he took her scrunchie.

Lara Jean’s scrunchie was basically her security blanket, but Peter knew she didn’t need the crutch and held onto it for safe keeping before the entered the party. Sure, it’s pretty annoying that LJ never got it back because of freakin’ Gen, but still — Peter Kavinsky wearing it around his wrist for a night was well worth the annoyance.

When he invited her to each lunch with his friends.

Lara Jean Covey always cherished her alone time, but Peter Kavinsky showed her that being a part of a group of friends is nice, too.

When he told everyone what really happened in the hot tub.

Although Gen denied leaking it, a video of Peter and Lara Jean kissing in the hot tub at the ski trip leaked and quickly became the talk of the hallways. Everyone assumed the pair had sex , which cause LJ a rightful amount of distress.

When Peter realized what was going on, he was quick to use his popularity status to shut the rumors down before they could get any worse.

“Not that it’s anyone’s business, but nothing happened in the hot tub,” he announced in a hallway full of his peers. “So if I hear anyone talking about Lara Jean or that video, I’m gonna kick all of your a**es.”
