As season four of Ozark is slowly making its way to screens, fans of the Netflix show have been looking into what their favourite characters might be up to in the upcoming episodes. Season three left the Byrdes, Wendy (played by Laura Linney) and Marty (Jason Bateman) reporting directly to cartel boss Omar Navarro (Felix Solis). The couple is sure to try and find a way out, but they might have to put their lives on the line.
Some fans on Reddit recently came together to figure out how exactly the Byrdes will manage to make it out.
“Stay associated with Navarro will probably cause their death in any way,” pointed out one user.
“The only way I think they maybe could have a ‘happy’ ending it is to take Maya’s deal, but I know that they are probably too greedy for that…”
“So, just like Breaking Bad, I don’t imagine a happy ending from them,” they added.
However, another fan believes it is possible the Byrdes could have a happy ending or at least one of them.
“Wendy goes all Heisenberg and kills Navarro and takes over the cartel.
“Probably orders a hit on Marty too,” they added, suggesting Linney’s character will kill her husband.
They continued laying out their theory: “Kids get out and abandon their parents.”
“Ruth goes to war with the Byrdes maybe kills Wendy and is last woman standing,” they added.
So maybe in the end neither one of the Byrdes will make it out alive.
Another fan shared their opinion saying: “I agree. They’re either going to die or become the new ‘Navarro’.”
“I’m afraid its gonna be a sad ending…,” commented another user.

“Marty and Wendy die… and the kids going to continue their job(????) or they’re all die and the Navarro will move on.”
Someone else believes “the show has a bit of foreshadowing”.
“I see them getting the kids out then waiting to leave themselves,” they posted on Reddit.
“As their plane takes off we hear a Buddy Holly song and its left to the viewers interpretation as to whether they make it or the plane crashes.”
Fans have also been looking at two new casting announcements which could mean dire news for the Byrdes.
Adam Rothenberg will join as a new series regular playing a former policeman named Mel Sattem who left the force and works as a private investigator in pursuit of the truth.
Another newcomer will be played by Bruce Davison and is powerful retired Illinois U.S. Senator Randall Schafer who is accustomed to doing things his way.
Will Marty and Wendy be able to survive all these new threats and make it to the end of the final season?
Ozark season 4 is scheduled for release on Netflix later this year.
