Outer Banks launched on Netflix last year and instantly became a hit as a new teen mystery drama. The streaming service didn’t take long to extend the story, announcing a series two renewal shortly after the season one premiere. Little to no information has been released since then up until now.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Outer Banks.

Outer Banks is about a group of teens who come from a region called Outer Banks in North Carolina.

John B (played by Chase Stokes) enlists the help of his friends in finding a treasure worth $400million.

The hunt soon becomes linked with John’s dad’s disappearance, raising the stakes for the gang.

However, this led to the discovery that John’s father had actually been killed.

Fans were left in shock as they found out Big John had been murdered by Ward Cameron (Charles Esten), Sarah Cameron’s (Madelyn Cline) dad.

They had gone on the hunt for the treasure together but Big John thought 20 percent for Ward was fair which he obviously didn’t agree with.

John and Sarah travelled to the Caribbean to find the gold which had been stolen by Ward.

But will they be able to track him down and get their hands on the riches?

When will Outer Banks return to Netflix?

This week, Netflix revealed just when viewers can look forward to the second series of Outer Banks.

Season one came out on April 15, 2020 so series two is a little behind in terms of scheduling.

This could be put down to any delays in filming caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Nevertheless, Outer Banks season two will be dropped on Friday, July 30, on Netflix.

Much like the first series, all of the episodes of season two are going to be released in one go.

It will also be the same in length with a total of 10 episodes.

Along with the release date announcement, a trailer for series two came out this week as well.

The promo teased the Pogues holding a mini funeral for their friends, unaware they are still alive and searching for the treasure.

The synopsis for season two reads: “New friends also bring new foes as they’re back on the trail of the gold, while the stakes for Kiara, Pope, and JJ rapidly escalate at home.

“The $400 million is still in the game, but will the uncovering of a new-found secret reunite the group for a fresh mission?

“The adventure of a lifetime awaits, but uncharted waters ahead mean our Pogues must do all they can to make it out alive.”

Outer Banks is available to watch on Netflix.
