Orange Is the New Black season seven is available to stream and download on Netflix now. The final series came to an emotional end in July and OITNB fans have been talking it ever since. The show is known for addressing major social and political issues and one theme in the final season was immigration in the United States.

Who is Carlos ‘Clitvack’ Litvack?
Carlos Litvack was introduced in season seven of Orange Is the New Black.
Litvack was one of the ICE (Immigration Customs and Enforcement) detention guards at the PolyCon ICE Detainment Centre (formerly Litchfield Penitentiary).
Litvack at most times has a tough approach to dealing with the detainees.
He is not as extreme as the C.O’s Hellman (played by Greg Vrotsos) or former guard Desi Piscatella (Brad William Henke), but at times he’s not far from it.

Litvack generally seems to have little regard or empathy towards the women he is overseeing.
For example, he unplugged the computers when Karla Córdova (Karina Arroyave) challenged him on her human rights which meant she lost all of the work she was doing on her case.
However, he had a change of heart when Blanca (Laura Gomez) apologised on Carla’s behalf and complimented his music taste, leading him to turn the computers back on.
Litvack was also extreme in his attitudes towards illegal immigration in the US.
Alongside Linda (Beth Dover), he celebrated the new court that was set up for the detainees’ hearings and showed no remorse when children were having their cases heard there.

Appalled at the treatment of the women, warden of Litchfield’s ICE detainment facility, Natalie Figueroa (Alysia Reiner) confronted Litvack on the way he was running the day to day of the facility.
She even sacrificed her own IVF treatment to get abortion pills, which she gave to a detainee who had become pregnant by rape.
Santos Chaj (Melinna Bobadilla) had been trying to terminate her pregnancy and when Fig asked Litvack to organise transportation for Santos to attend a women’s clinic for an abortion, he refused for an unknown reason.
To punish Litvack for deporting her best friend Martiza (Dianne Guerro), Flaka (Jackie Cruz) came up with the idea of giving him a nickname.
She started to call him ‘Clitvack’ and soon enough, it caught on amongst the kitchen staff, detainees and even other prison guards.
Speaking to Soap Opera News, Adam Lindo who plays Litvack said: “He’s an interesting character.
“This storyline is gonna really highlight a lot of things that are going on in our world today that need to be addressed when it comes to other human beings.”

Who is actor Adam Lindo?
Adam Lindo is best known for playing Detective Antoni Ortiz in Blue City.
Lindo has previously had small roles in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Power, Blindspot and The Blacklist.
He has also had lead roles in several short films include Again, Clean Break and Carl and Kate.
The star recently finished filming the upcoming live-action Clifford the Big Red Dog film that is scheduled for release in 2020.
Before becoming an actor, Lindo worked as a barber and a police officer.
He said: “You know the regular America dream. You’re trying to find out what you want to do with yourself.
“From there I went down the rabbit hole. I found my partner in crime which is acting.”
