Olly Murs says he’d like to find love among The Voice stars but fears the sack

Olly Murs hopes one of The Voice contestants makes his heart skip a beat – but fears bosses will sack him if he
dates one.

The singer is desperate to meet a special lady after being single since splitting with long-term girlfriend Francesca Evans three years ago.

Olly, who dated TOWIE’s Jessica Wright and presenter Mel Sykes last year, says his love life – or lack of it – is the talk of his fellow judges, including Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson.

“We talk about my love life a lot,” said Olly, 34. “It’s become a bit of a running joke.”

Olly says he’d like to turn round his judge’s chair and find the right girl on the ITV talent show which returns next spring. But it could come at a cost.

“Spinning these chairs could be the only way I ever could find love,” said the former X Factor star. “It’s like speed dating. I only get to hear their voice so it would be love at first sight.

“I don’t think I’m allowed to date contestants though. I think I would be sacked. But you never know. Crazier things have happened.

“It would be amazing if I did find love on The Voice.”

Olly was caught up in the stabbing on Friday at Sony’s London headquarters, which also houses X Factor boss Simon Cowell’s office.

He was among hundreds who fled from the music label’s offices after two men were knifed on the third floor. The drama came almost a year after the singer caused mass panic by going on Twitter and wrongly claiming a gunman had stormed Selfridge’s store.

During the latest alarm – in which two men were arrested after a reported fight between chefs in the canteen – Olly stayed offline.
