Coronnation Street has swept the board at the National Television Awards, claiming all three soap prizes on offer.
It comes after they did exactly the same at the TV Choice awards, proving that the show is on absolute top form.
The soap beat off competition from EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks to win Best Newcomer, Best Dramatic Performance and Best Serial Drama.
Mollie Gallagher was emotional as she accepted her award ‘on behalf of all of those people who don’t fit the mould.’
She plays Nina, who has been central to the hate crime storyline which has won critical acclaim.
Another of this year’s Corrie stories to really push the boundaries was the Yasmeen and Geoff coercive control storyline.
The newcomer prize went to child star Jude Riordan, who expertly plays the endearing son of Nick Tilsley’s – the astronomy loving Sam.
Jude told Metro.co.uk exclusively: ‘I don’t know what I feel – excited, it’s like watching the TV but I am actually here.
‘I am loving all of it!’
