Noel Edmonds 'is communicating with his wife from the I'm A Celebrity camp via a secret code'

On Friday night’s show Noel, 69, was teary eyed when a letter from his wife Liz Davies was read to him.

She said to him in her note: “Love is a friendship set on fire and you are my eternal flame.”

A source close to the star revealed he’s been secretly keeping in touch with Liz while on the show.

He said: “Noel said he was going to send out messages to Liz, telling her he loves her and how he’s doing. He has a secret code for that. But he didn’t explain to anyone else how he would do that.”

He married make-up artist Liz in 2009.

The former Deal or No Deal and Telly Addicts host is convinced his stint in I’m A Celebrity will help to mend his public reputation, which has been tarnished recently by odd and controversial comments.

The source said: “He believes this is a massive chance for him.

“Noel believes he will bring a load of positive energy and light into the camp – and will be like a spiritual guru and father figure to the other contestants.

“He also thinks he will have the opportunity to redeem himself in the eyes of the public.”

Liz in Noel's third wife – the couple met in 2006 when she was a stand-in make-up artist on Deal or No Deal. Describing how they met at his wedding, Noel said: "To start with it was all very professional, but there was a look in both our eyes." They wed in a civil ceremony at Lower Slaughter Manor, a 17th-century country house in the Cotswolds. Edmonds married his first wife, Gillian Slater, in 1971, but they divorced after 11 years. In July 1986 he married Helen Soby and he has four daughters with his second wife. They split in 2005.

“But he hasn’t explained how he will do that.”

He sparked controversy two years ago by tweeting about his belief that diseases, like cancer, can be caused by negative energy.

The three-times married star told a cancer sufferer: “Scientific fact – disease is caused by negative energy.”
