A new teaser for Love Island 2021 has been released, confirming the release date as a massive group of singletons party in the street with host Laura Whitmore.

Following the cancellation of last year’s series, fans of the ITV2 reality dating competition can’t wait for this year’s show to commence.

Their excitement will undoubtedly be going through the roof amid the launch of a new teaser, depicting TV presenter Laura strutting in a red jumpsuit while surrounded by a crowd of singletons ready to find love… or lust.

In the new teaser for the show, a young woman wearing crocs drops an armful of peaches and aubergines (we see what they did there) when a red jeep stops her in her tracks.

Laura then emerges from the vehicle, a smirk appearing on her face as she uses a hammer to smash the glass covering a red button with the instructions: ‘In case of Love Island crack on.’

The infamous words ‘I’ve got a text!’ start ringing out, as two men in a barber shop receive the message on their phones, one of whom decides to shave the shape of a heart onto his chest.

Mayhem ensues as the singletons start running in the streets, while Laura walks calmly among them.

At one point, a woman finds herself in the arms of a young man, the pair beaming at each other before another guy whisks her off her feet… just a hint of the drama Love Island fans can expect in the new series.

As confetti showers down on them all, Love Island’s narrator Iain Stirling stands up in the open-top jeep, using a megaphone to shout: ‘This is not a drill!’… before a peach hits him in the face.

The trailer ends with the confirmation that Love Island will be returning this June on ITV.

It’s expected that Love Island will be starting on Monday June 28, although the exact launch date has not yet been announced.

Several fans expressed their excitement over Love Island’s imminent return.

‘I’m legit so excited for this!! Pure summer vibes,’ one person tweeted.

‘Omg I’m actually buzzin lol, life is restoring,’ another said.

Love Island’s boss recently confirmed the location for the 2021 series, revealing that it will be going ahead in Majorca.

ITV commissioner Amanda Stavri also addressed the call for the show to include LGBT+ contestants, saying that the inclusion of gay contestants would present a ‘logistical difficulty’.

Love Island is set to launch this June on ITV.
