Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is incredibly concerned about the future of the Woolpack, given the pub’s financial struggles, but there’s more heartache ahead for the landlady when she makes a shock discovery.
The electrics have packed in!
The above clip – taken from Tuesday’s (September 21) edition of the ITV soap – sees the Dales stalwart attempting to get in touch with an electrician to no avail.
Paddy (Dominic Brunt), meanwhile, attempts to offer her words of encouragement, but it’s no use. Chas is left fearing the worst.
‘Just when you think you’re getting somewhere,’ she says, ‘something else crops up!
‘All the more reason to take Al’s money!’.
Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) will – at this stage – have made an offer to buy into the pub.
Paddy, however, is not too keen on the idea, given that Al and Chas had previously shared a moment together.
In fact, he’s desperate to keep Al out of the pub, by any means necessary.
‘If I can think of another way that doesn’t involve Al,’ he asks, ‘would you change your mind?’
Chas, admiring his optimism, reminds him that it’s unlikely to happen given the mess that they’re currently in.
Paddy will seek out Kim Tate (Claire King) in the aftermath of this scene, in the hopes of her helping him to prevent Al from buying into the pub. Kim agrees to help, but she wants something in return.
Emmerdale airs these scenes Tuesday September 23 at 7pm on ITV.
