Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black is ending with EXPLOSIVE final season

Netflix has confirmed their groundbreaking show Orange Is the New Black is coming to an end after a whopping six seasons.

The show looked closely at a range of difficult topics and focused on the lives of women and their experiences inside a female prison, formed as an adaptation of the bestselling memoir of Piper Chapman.

Taylor Chilling plays Piper Chapman, and stars alongside the likes of Natasha Lyonne (Nicky Nichols) and Uzo Aruba (Crazy Eyes).

However, fans need not be too disheartened by the news of that the series is coming to a close as the final series is set to be filled with major drama showing the ladies getting to grips with leaving the prison.

Viewers can look forward to seeing Piper try and deal with her life of freedom on the outside, while Taystee’s (Danielle Brooks) [double space] turbulent friendship with Cindy (Adrienne Moore) still hangs in the balance as her life sentence looms.

In the huge finale episode of season six, some fans were left raging after they saw Piper get an early release while Bianca Flores (Laura Gomez) was carted off to an immigration detention centre.

The scenes made headlines after many fans believed the dramatic episode was a political move by the show in order to highlight racial issues in America.

Orange Is the New Black is considered a Netflix staple after running on the international streaming site for six years and making its debut in 2013.

Creator and showrunner, Jenji Kohan shared a snap of the cast in what looks like the set of Litchfield Prison back in February after the production of the final episodes were all wrapped-up.

Jenji captioned the group shot saying: “The is a family #OITNB”

As well as cast member Natasha Lyonne also shared her reaction to the shows closing on her Instagram account with an emotional post that read: “On the last shot, a guttural sound came out of me, like some wounded animal”.

The final series of Orange Is the New Black airs on July 26 on Netflix.
