Netflix's Elite is basically the Spanish version of Gossip Girl based on the first trailer

If you’ve been missing out on all the glossy soapy teen drama of Gossip Girl, then Netflix has you covered with an equally glossy new show.

The streaming services’s new drama Elite is due to drop next month, and to hype you up, the first trailer has arrived.

Featuring a boat load of rich young people with lovely cheekbones staring at each other during a party, the trailer ends with the character looking into a swimming pool, where a body (or at least a hand) floats in blood.

The premise of the show features three working class students who get the opportunity to join a very prestigious (and no doubt snobby) school.

While there will be plenty of bitching and teens being nasty to each other, there’s also an element of a murder mystery to make things even more exciting.

The show will be Netflix’s second Spanish production, after last year’s Cable Girls. That show focuses on a group of women who work at a telecommunications company in the 1920s.

You can watch Cable Girls in its original language, or dubbed in English by a host of famous anime voice actors like Todd Haberkorn, Tara Sands and Vic Mignogna.

Digital Spy have reached out to Netflix to see if Elite will have an English dub, too.

Something else you should totally check out Money Heist, another Spanish series that Netflix streams (but didn’t create).

Elite will drop on Netflix on October 5.
