It has transpired that Dee (played by Madeleine West) has an evil twin in the form of Andrea Somers (also Madeleine West) and that her biological mum is in fact Heather Schilling (Kerry Armstrong).
It’s a hugely complex situation too as Heather attempted to kill Sonya (Eve Morey), Toadie’s (Ryan Moloney) wife who died of ovarian cancer earlier in the year.
Dee disappeared shortly after she and Toadie married but now she’s back, her feelings for the Neighbours character have blossomed once more.
Although as for Toadie, it’s clear he’s still dealing with his grief for his late wife on the Channel 5 soap.
Despite everything that’s happened, Dee decided she wants to keep in touch with Heather and Andrea and she wants to learn who she really is and about her past.
However, Toadie is apprehensive and wonders were the visits could lead too.
Dee will return to the prison where she is surprised to see how repentant Heather is for her actions.
This leads Dee to wonder if there is some good in her after all, despite her evil deeds.
However, the same cannot be said for Andrea as she is ready to take advantage of Dee all over again.
Andrea feigns interest in bonding with Dee but it’s all motivated by self-interest as she attempts to use their connection to secure a lighter sentence.
Dee is completely devastated and so she decides to leave them languishing in prison after Toadie gives Andrea some harsh words.
Are Heather and Andrea really out of Dee’s life for good?
If they really are making an exit, it could be a happy surprise for Toadie as it may take a great deal of stress out of his and Dee’s life.
It may also serve to bring them closer together with the devious pair out of the picture.
But viewers might not see the pair rekindle their romance just yet.
Heather star, Kerry Armstrong, has teased that love might not be on the cards for Toadie anytime soon given his traumatic past few months.
The actress told Metro.co.uk: “I think that Toadie is still brokenhearted about Sonya, he is so tired and broken. He just wants to be with his children.
“I actually think he needs some time alone and to just focus on bringing up his children.
“I don’t think viewers need to see him with anyone for a while.”
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
