Neighbours child star Miranda Fryer was making plans to start family with childhood sweetheart before tragic death at 34

NEIGHBOURS child star Miranda Fryer was making plans to start a family with her childhood sweetheart before her tragic death aged just 34.

The former actress, who played Sky Mangel on the show as a kid, died in her sleep on January 6 at her home in Melbourne, her heartbroken family say.

Miranda spent three years on soap after bagging the role at just 18 months old in 1989.

She later earned an art diploma before studying to be a nurse and was due to start a postgraduate position at Monash Hospital in the neuroscience department in February after recently finishing her degree.

After a long engagement, Miranda wed her childhood sweetheart Arthur Pothitis at a beach ceremony in Aspendale in November 2020.

Describing the couple as "true soulmates", her devastated family revealed they were planning to have children in an emotional tribute.

In a statement, her family said, “True soulmates, Miranda and Arthur were making plans to start their family, when one day last week she went to sleep and never woke up. We do not know why.

"She had had some health issues with her heart, maybe her beautiful persona was just too good for this world of ours.
