Naga, 45, has become a prominent star of BBC Breakfast over the years, usually presenting alongside a number of her colleagues during the latter half of the week. The journalist has been on the air this week, sharing hosting duties with Charlie, 58, to update BBC viewers on the latest headlines from around the world. Usually, on Saturday’s, Munchetty is seen on the red sofa but those watching at home tuned in to watch Rachel, 45, instead.

The BBC Radio 5 Live presenter does appear frequently on the programme at the weekends, though she is not the permanent host for Saturday’s.

Instead, Rachel usually oversees proceedings on Sunday’s, presenting alongside the likes of Roger Johnson, 51, or Jon Kay, 51.

Viewers might recognise the broadcaster as the journalist who manned the reins of the coronavirus news specials at the beginning of the pandemic in April.

According to the BBC Breakfast website, she is not one of the main team members, with Naga and Louise Minchin, 52, sitting at the top of the list.

Rather, she is known as one of the relief news anchors who steps in when one of the main stars takes a welcome break from the programme.
