Nadia Essex reveals she feels suicidal after getting sacked from Celebs Go Dating and being exposed as a Twitter troll

In her only interview, the 36-year-old said she sent the messages from the fake accounts after becoming “desperate and depressed” and insisted she only wrote the tweets because she had been told not to speak publicly about Eden Blackman cheating on his girlfriend.

Eden’s shock revelation about Nadia using fake Twitter profiles to target him was revealed by The Sun Online last week.

Channel 4 bosses suspended Nadia from her job after Eden hired a private investigator who worked out Nadia was the individual behind the tweets. Nadia later resigned from the show.

Remorseful Nadia, 36, now admits she took the wrong course of action but said she felt no other option after receiving hateful messages herself.

Speaking to The Sun Online from her home, Nadia said: “After it came out about Eden’s cheating I needed to vent. I wasn’t allowed to speak out as myself because I was warned to keep quiet.

“I felt like I wasn’t allowed my freedom of speech and was told not to put out a public statement. I was in completely the wrong head space. I was a mess. I couldn't leave the house because I was terrified people would hurl abuse at me in the street. People were so angry I wasn’t condemning Eden’s cheating that I was getting abused online constantly.

“I felt like I couldn’t speak up. It was humiliating. I was devastated and petrified and I didn't know what to do. I was depressed and I felt desperate. I am at rock bottom.”

Speaking about what had happened since she was outed, Nadia added: “I have had suicidal thoughts from the mountain of abuse I have received. I've been told to kill myself.”

Nadia said she first decided to create the two Twitter accounts after seeing a famous popstar doing the same thing to promote her music.

She explained: “This woman has around 15 fake accounts linked to her twitter to promote her music. So I thought it was acceptable to create those accounts to monitor an online troll who has been abusing me for three years. I just wanted to see what she was saying.

“But when I was told I couldn’t speak out, I needed to vent and make my opinions clear.”

In the messages, Nadia called Eden “sick” and “disgraceful” for cheating on his now ex-girlfriend with Chanelle Sadie Paul – a woman he met when she appeared on Celebs Go Dating.

She explained: “Basically those tweets said he's a lying cheating scumbag. He is a lying cheating scumbag.

“None of those tweets were defamatory. None of them to him broke any Twitter laws or violated the rules of use. They were stating fact.

“Looking back on it now, I didn't deal with it in the right way, I know that. I've been called a fat ugly b***h on a daily basis. I've been told to kill myself. I’ve been told I am the most hated woman in Britain”

Nadia also told The Sun Online she felt “bullied” by Eden, 51, during her time working with him on Celebs Go Dating.
She explained: “I feel like he hated me and he made sure I knew that.

“He made passive aggressive digs. If I walked into a room, he would walk out. If I was laughing he would wince, like he was making a point about my voice going through him. If I was talking with Tom he'd sigh and then stand up and walk out. He couldn't even sit next to me.

“During a break he would move away from me. I felt like I couldn't tell anyone. I didn’t want to be seen as the diva on set who was causing trouble and hard to work with.”

Nadia added: “It was so bad I wanted to quit before series two but I stayed. I refused to let this man ruin my chance at my dream job.”

Eden had no comment when contacted by The Sun Online.

Earlier this month, Channel 4 bosses released a statement to say they had removed Nadia from her role on the dating show.

However Nadia insists she was the one to walk away from the show. Nadia explained: “I just want people to know the truth. I won’t be silenced and I won’t let this go.

“My life has been like hell on earth. And I want everyone to know what has really happened.”

The Sun Online has contacted Lime Pictures for comment.
