The inexplicably popular Mrs Brown returns to screens tonight (Saturday, March 23) at 9.15pm on BBC One with chat show All Round to Mrs Brown’s. The third series sees Brendan O’Carroll return as the foul-mouthed Irish matriarch to interview a range of celebrity guests. But how are the Brown family related?
Mrs Brown’s Boys family tree
Agnes Brown
The titular matriarch, Agnes Brown or “Mammy” is the head of the family in Mrs Brown’s Boys.
Her late husband is called Redser but is never portrayed on screen. Her father-in-law is Harold Brown, better known as Grandad (played by Dermott O’Neill).
Mrs Brown’s sons and daughters are Cathy Brown (Jennifer Gibney), Dermot Brown (Paddy Houlihan), Rory Brown (Rory Cowan/Damien McKiernan), Mark Brown (Pat ‘Pepsi’ Shields) and Trevor Brown (Martin Delany).
In real life, Brendan O’Carroll is married to his on-screen daughter, Jennifer Gibney and his sister Eilish O’Carroll plays next door neighbour Winnie McGoogan.

Rory was played by Rory Cowan up until 2017 and has since been replaced by Damien McKiernan.
He is married to hairdresser Dino Doyle (Gary Hollywood).
Cathy Brown
Catherine ‘Cathy’ Brown is Agnes’ only daughter in the Brown family.
She is unlucky in love and unmarried but has a string of new romanced throughout the series.

Dermot Brown
Dermot Brown is the fourth child in the Brown family.
He is married to Maria Nicholson (Fiona O’Carroll) and they have triplets named after the Beatles, John, George and Ringo.
In real life, Fiona O’Carroll is Brendan O’Carroll’s daughter.
Trevor Brown
Trevor Brown is the youngest of the Brown children and the kindest member often family.
He is played by Martin Delaney who is Brendan O’Carroll real-life son in law, married to Fiona O’Carroll.
Betty Brown
Elizabeth “Betty” Brown is Mark’s wife and the mother of Bono.
Betty is portrayed by O’Carroll’s real-life daughter-in-law, Amanda Woods, the real-life wife of Danny O’Carroll who plays Buster Brady.
She is also Jamie O’Carroll’s mother in real-life.
Maria Brown
Maria Brown (née Nicholson) is the wife of Dermot and the mother of triplets John, George, and Ringo Brown.
Bono Brown
Bono Brown is the only son of Mark and Betty and first grandchild to Agnes.
