Money Heist has been airing for four seasons on Netflix, bringing together a cast of rag-tag anti-heroes. Throughout the series, characters have come and gone, and more have joined the main gang of criminals. But which characters will be returning for season five?
Who is returning for season five?
The first four seasons of Money Heist have slowly built up a charismatic cast of loveable anti-heroes.
Most of the cast have been mainstays since the very first episode, with other cast members joining later, only to become fan-favourites.
The details of the much-anticipated season five are still limited, with the series expected to drop later this year.
The Spanish series has amassed a dedicated fanbase since it premiered, with many now wondering who will return.
While the main cast of season five has not been fully confirmed, most of the main players will return.
Tokyo – Ursula Corbero
Tokyo, AKA Silene Oliveira, is one of the series main characters and will return for season five.
Not only is she the protagonist of the story, but she is also the series narrator and one of the crucial members of the team for the Royal Mint of Spain job.
The Professor – Alvaro Morte
The mastermind behind the Royal Mint of Spain heist, The Professor, AKA Sergio Marquina, will once again make an appearance in season five.
The Professor has overseen all the main jobs of the series, including the Bank of Spain heist.
Raquel Murillo – Itziar Ituno
Originally a Spanish police inspector that was assigned to lead the investigation on the Royal Mint of Spain job, Murillo will be back.
Murillo, AKA Lisdon, joined the group in season three, helping The Professor execute another major job for the team.
Berlin – Pedro Alonso
Berlin, or by his real name Andres de Fonollosa, is second-in-command of the bank-robbing team.
He has been an integral part of the team since the series began, working alongside The Professor to ensure all the jobs get done properly.
Rio – Miguel Herran
Rio, or Anibal Cortes, has a tough time of it in season three, being captured and tortured by the police, nevertheless, he will be back.
Denver- Jaime Lorente
Denver, AKA Daniel Ramos, has been with the team since season one, joining thanks to his father.
Monica Gaztambide – Esther Acebo
Monica, who goes by the code-name Stockholm, was originally a secretary for the Royal Mint of Spain, only for her to fall in love with Denver and join the team.
Arturo Roman – Enrique Arce
Another member of the team that worked for the Royal Mint of Spain before joining, Roman is set to return.
Helsinki – Darko Peric
Helsinki, or Mirko Dragic’s main job is watching over the hostages while the job is going down, he has been with the team since the beginning.
Season five will be the final season for the series, with filming recently wrapping in Spain with Alvaro Morte, AKA The Professor taking to Instagram to wave goodbye to the character.
His caption read: “And to you, my dear Professor. I will miss having such a good time with you. THANK YOU.”
Fans were emotional and thankful in the comments, with one writing: “We thank you for this incredible time and the family you have created.
“It was incredibly emotional and exciting and you have brought so much joy back into the lives of some and I speak for myself.”
Another simply added: “WE CANT WAIT FOR SEASON 5”.
