Molly Conlin: EastEnders star 'held at knifepoint' in terrifying home raid by thugs who stole car, phone & watch

EX-EastEnders star Molly Conlin has revealed she was held at knifepoint by robbers who stole a car, phone and watch in a terrifying raid at her home.

The actress, who played Dotty Cotton in the soap, said two thugs burst into her home yesterday afternoon in the broad daylight attack.

Molly, 19, claims she was then shoved to the ground and dragged upstairs where she was threatened with the knife as her house in Witham, Essex, was raided.

The terrified teen said she was left fearing for her life as the men stole her brother's black Audi A1 and snatched a mobile phone and watch.

Molly says her phone was later found nearby as she urged her fans to be careful and lock their front doors.

The star wrote on Twitter: "I was literally praying as I thought I was going to die.

"Little did I know 2 had come through the back of my house also and found my brothers car keys and later all jumped into his black Audi A1 and took my phone and a watch.

"They was screaming at me, telling me they was going to hurt me if I didn’t give them anything while I was begging for my life being pinned down to the floor.

"PLEASE can everyone lock there front doors as I see this happen on Facebook the other day and never thought this would happen to me. I’m so grateful none of my family was home at the time and it was only me. Please spread the word."

Essex Police confirmed they had launched an investigation following the horror yesterday at around 3pm.

A spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information about an aggravated burglary in Witham.

“The men, who were described as being black, threatened a woman with a knife before carrying out a messy search of the bedrooms.

“They made off with a watch worth a four-figure sum and a black Audi A1 Sport. Fortunately, the woman was not hurt but she was left shaken by the incident.”

Molly's fans have flooded her with messages of support after she posted about the raid last night.

One wrote: "That is terrifying I can’t imagine how scared you must’ve been! Hope you’re okay x".

Another said: "Omg! That is awful. I hope you are okay".

While one fan said: "So relieved you are okay, well done for passing the information on to your followers xx."

Molly played Dot Branning’s evil granddaughter between 2008 and 2010 on EastEnders.

Her three-year stint on the soap saw her wind upDot, play pranks on the late Jim Branning and run rings around her dad, "Nasty" Nick Cotton.

But in 2009 she was shocked to find out her mum Sandy was still alive when she came to the Square looking for her.

The pair were seen leaving to start a new life in the US, before moving to Wales.

The character made a return to the long-running soap last year but was played by actress Milly Zero.

Molly said she was "very upset" by the decision to replace her.

She previously told The Sun Online: "They did approach me, unfortunately they wanted the new Dotty to go back and appear a lot older and be played by someone in their 20s.

"Of course I would have loved to have returned to EastEnders, but I believe everything happens for a reason."

Molly is now an Instagram star and regularly posts selfies to her 19,000 followers.

The Sun Online has contacted Molly's agent for comment.

When approached at home, Molly's family said they did not wish to speak.
