MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace wants to join EastEnders as ‘third Mitchell brother’

MasterChef host Gregg Wallace wants to join EastEnders as the "third Mitchell brother".

The TV presenter bears an uncanny resemblance to hard man brothers Phil and Grant and could provide an exciting new storyline.

Speaking on Loose Women, Gregg admitted he would love to star in the soap but did point out he is from South East London and not a proper cockney.

Stacey Solomon said he would be a great addition to Albert Square, but Gregg did confess he might not be able to act.

He did suggest that he could have a role on the fruit and veg stall given his background.

Jane Moore suggested that he could be a "missing Mitchell brother".

Acting out a potential scene, Gregg said: "Alright treacle. Lets have a cup of splosh."

Gregg’s newfound love of acting comes after he performed his first ever gig during his one man tour in Lincoln at the weekend.

Named after his catchphrase, "Doesn’t get tougher than this", Gregg takes centre stage for the brand new show.

He talks about his pathway into TV and does some food tasting with the audience.

When asked if he gets nervous, Gregg said: "Not at all nervous. Maybe I’m just used to talking to people."

Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm
