Masked Singer fans convinced Panda is legendary 80s singer after spotting a clue in her voice

MASKED Singer fans are convinced the lovable Panda is 80s singing legend Cyndi Lauper.

On Saturday night the character belted out One Direction hit Story Of My Life with gusto and impressed the audience enough to progress to next week's show.

Sadly for Keane singer Tom Chaplin his journey came to an end when he was unveiled as Poodle.

Some viewers were sure of Panda's identity based on the tone of her voice, insisting it must be the iconic New Yorker.

While others think a past clue that alluded to fancy footwear was a nod to the Broadway and West End musical Kinky Boots, which Cyndi wrote the lyrics and music for.

One fans posted on Twitter: "Panda is Cyndi Lauper – 100% Sounds like her, clues match."

Another shared: "#panda is Cyndi Lauper #MaskedSingerUK fancy footwear… kinky boots!"

A third said: "Sounds like Cyndi Lauper."

Others suggested Panda could be Girls Aloud's Cheryl.

They suggested the Panda was a nod to her son whose name is Bear, while the 1D song hinted at her former relationship with Liam Payne, who was a member of the boyband.

There were even calls that the character is Charlie's Angels star Lucy Liu or Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon.

Both have voiced animated characters which appeared to be another clue from a previous show.

Lucy provided the voice for King Fu Panda's Viper while Alesha was Bliss in the UK version of the Powerpuff Girls.
