Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) is feeling very apprehensive after learning Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) is planning his and Rhona’s (Zoe Henry) engagement party in Emmerdale.
The party is only being organised because Rhona feels bad for Vanessa, who’s still heartbroken after ending her relationship with Suzy (Martelle Edinborough).
Before Rhona announced the news, Marlon was inside working on his physio with Kit (Thoren Ferguson).
Marlon has set himself a challenge in time for the wedding, already telling Paddy (Dominic Brunt) that he will walk down the aisle, not Rhona.
Progress is good for Marlon in terms of his strength and walking with a frame, but he didn’t want to push himself too far as Kit heard Rhona returning home.
It’s a surprise, after all.
Rhona told Marlon about the party and invited Kit, who wasn’t interested at first but when he heard Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) would be going, he decided to go along.
Suffice to say Marlon’s nerves were high when Rhona explained the event, but his anxiety did not get the better of him – he still wants to go.
Returning to the Woolpack is a huge milestone for Marlon. The last time he was there it was his birthday, he was proposing to Rhona and then moments later, he sadly suffered his stroke.
