Made In Chelsea's Ollie Locke announces engagement to long-term friend

Made in Chelsea star Ollie Locke has announced his engagement to long-term friend Gareth, who just so happens to share the same surname.

The reality star confirmed the happy news on Instagram with a picture of a newspaper engagement announcement, revealing they had known each other for a decade.

“I have known him for 10 years, and at many of my most important life moments he was in the background,” Ollie wrote.

I have known him for 10 years, and at many of my most important life moments he was in the background. Earlier this year we realised that what we had both been looking for was standing in front of us all along, the greatest hint was probably that we already have the same surname! I have never been happier and can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with someone who makes me smile like this every day! On Sunday I said yes Xx @garethplocke

Gareth also shared the happy news, writing on his own Instagram: “Feeling blessed he said yes! Love you @ollielockeworld.”

Ollie has been teasing his romance with Gareth for a few months, writing last month on a silhouetted Instagram post of the pair: “My happiest place.. with my favourite person X.”

Earlier this year, the Made in Chelsea star looked for love on Celebs Go Dating, admitting it was one of the “funniest things” he’s ever done.

Meanwhile, last year Ollie opened up about how “difficult” he found coming out as gay, and the backlash when he initially came out as bisexual.

“It was one of the most difficult things because I didn’t know my sexuality, but I wanted to put it on the show,” he said. “It was a big decision to talk about it.”

He added: “Bisexuality wasn’t talked about in the same way six years ago. People didn’t understand it and people didn’t particularly like it. The ridicule I got from not saying I was gay immediately was unreal. It was judged highly. It wasn’t fair.”
