Luther, Les Misérables, Watership Down and Doctor Who lead this year's BBC Christmas schedule

The BBC has a veritable festive feast for viewers this Christmas, with special episodes of Luther, Doctor Who and Mrs. Brown’s Boys on top of all-new series.

The most wonderful time of the year comes with the most gripping drama of the year, including the return of Idris Elba to solve a series of brutal and indiscriminate killings that have shaken the public in Luther.

As DCI Luther gets closer and closer to discovering the true evil behind these murders, he must confront a spectre from his own past (a very familiar one indeed!) in a way that changes his life forever.

The Beeb also has some impressive new drama on the way, including the star-studded animated remake of Watership Down and a non-musical version of Les Misérables featuring Olivia Colman and Dominic West.

For comedy and light entertainment fans, Geri Horner is taking a break from rehearsing for the Spice Girls reunion to reunite with Rob Beckett for a celebrity-filled All Together Now Christmas special.

Gemma Collins, Chris Kamara, Alison Hammond, Laurie Brett, Ben Foden, Amber Davies, Omid Djalili, Sara Pascoe and Tyger Drew-Honey will all be on stage hoping to impress a judging panel of 100 with their vocal capabilities.

The TV fun doesn’t end on Christmas Day! Jodie Whittaker and her friends Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill will be back on New Year’s Day to confront a terrifying evil that is emerging from across earth’s centuries.
