Love Island's Megan says women should be able to do what they want with their bodies after escort past revealed

The Sun on Sunday revealed the former stripper, 24, worked as an escort who dated Sugar Daddies and was showered with cash and gifts.

Appearing to speak for the first time about her past, Megan vowed never to stop being a "free thinking, confident, independent young woman striving to make a better life for myself and my family".

She posted a snap of an inspirational quote on Instagram, which read: "It took me quite a long time to develop a voice, and now that I have it, I am not going to be silent."

Megan captioned the post: "I support all women, regardless of the choices they make about what they do with their bodies.

"My dad always told me unless you’ve walked in someone’s shoes then don't judge them.

"Thank you to all of the amazing women that have and continue to follow my journey.

"Your messages of support mean so much to me."

She ended the post with the hashtags #womenempowerment #girlpower #womenunited.

Megan – who famously revealed she has never had any female friends – finished in fourth place on the ITV2 show with boyfriend Wes Nelson.

Their love story on the show was controversial after Wes left fuming Laura Anderson to get together with Megan.

But the happy couple appeared on Love Island: The Reunion last night looking closer than ever – despite Wes jetting off to Majorca alone when news of her past emerged.

Megan also cancelled all her upcoming nightclub appearances due to "personal reasons".

In a post-show press conference Megan, who also jumped into bed with Love Island contestants Eyal Booker and Alex Miller, said she wanted to turn her back on her past.

She said: “I never want to go back to jobs I had like glamour modelling. I was in the industry a long time — since I was 20 — but I want to move on."

Before Love Island Megan lived in a swish Thames-side apartment in London and drove a £30,000 SUV.
