Liam Reardon has announced he's set to leave his home of Merthyr Tydfil in Wales for Essex in a bid to be closer to his girlfriend Millie Court.

However, the pair don't want to "jump" into living together just yet as the bricklayer and blonde beauty want to give themselves a chance to acclimatise to life outside of the Majorcan villa.

After being crowned winners of the 2021 series of the hit ITV dating show Love Island on Monday 23 August, where they became official after weeks of getting to know one another, the pair sat down to have a frank conversation about their future.

Life after the villa looks bright for Liam, 22, and his 24 year old other half as they plan on continuing on with their relationship in Essex.

“I love where I'm from but I would like to venture off and move to somewhere new and Essex seems like the perfect place really," Liam explained during his exit interview.

The star, who celebrated his birthday while in the villa, continued: "I know some of the boys who were in the villa we got on so well and they mentioned moving in together and they’d like to move to Essex so that’s something I would definitely be considering and that’s my plan really, moving to Essex."

Speaking about when he and Millie will potentially live in their own place, he went on: “Millie and I will move in together eventually. We’ve been living together in the villa together for the past 7/8 weeks.

"We don’t want to jump into living together straight away because we don’t want to add too much pressure.”

Millie agreed as she added: “We haven’t been away from each other yet to miss each other and do those things that you do in normal relationships.

"But us girls [from the villa] will rent a house in Essex, boys will rent a house in Essex, see how that goes for six months and then get a crack on with it [moving in together].”

Liam responded: “That’s exactly how I feel. I think six months then that’s the next step, we move in together.”

His significant other added: “The one thing I want to make sure is that we still stay as strong as we are now.”

Millie and Liam have actually thought way ahead as they've already discussed the prospect of marriage, too.

“The proposal is going to have to be massive," Millie said as Liam added: “It’s going to be huge, I’m sure I can pull it out of the bag. I’m sure I can do it.”

A wedding isn't the only massive step they plan on taking together in the future as they both shared how important family is to them.

"Family’s a massive thing for me. To have children one day is a dream, it’s something I really want and with someone I love," Liam explained.

"I said I wanted three children, I think Millie feels the same [Millie: “Yeah!”].

"I’ve had an amazing upbringing myself, my family being so loving, I just want to give that to my children.”

Millie agreed as she said: “We’re both very family orientated, we both want kids. We both want to get married," as Liam added: “That’s our plan, we’re on the same page.”
