Love Island’s Ekin-Su’s appearance as serial killer in Turkish soap opera unearthed

Love Island's new "troublemaker" Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu dropped a huge bombshell during her date with Liam Llewllyn when she told him that she had starred as a serial killer in a Turkish soap opera.

Ekin-Su, 27, entered the villa in Thursday's episode, alongside Afia Tonkmor, 25.

Fans were able to get to know the new islanders as Liam, 22, was voted to date both girls in possibly the most public speed dating event ever broadcast.

Ekin-Su wasted no time in revealing that she was an actress who shared her time between London and Istanbul.

She divulged that her most notable role so far had been in a Turkish soap opera in which she played a serial killer, she said: "I’ve played really weird characters."

She explained: "I’ve played a serial killer," which seemed to startle Liam who could only respond with: "Your eyes are too nice!"

Her role came in 2020 as she starred in seven episodes of Kuzey Yildizi as the character Isil.

According to IMDb, the show centres around two characters, Yildiz and Kuzey. The pair are engaged until Kuzey goes to Istanbul to study at university where he chooses to follow a "new love".

When his village learns of his decision he is "excommunicated by everyone" but eventually marries the "woman he loves". However, 20 years later he suffers the "pain that Yildiz experienced" when she abandons him.

The synopsis reads: "Yildiz has loved Kuzey for as long as she has known. She has seen no one but him. Families are also friendly to each other. Kuzey and Yildiz are engaged.

"But when Kuzey goes to Istanbul to study at university, he forgets all his words and sets sail for new love. When this is learned by his family, Kuzey is excommunicated by everyone in the village, including his own family.

"Kuzey married the woman he loved. He had three children. Twenty years later, he experienced the pain that Yildiz experienced. He was abandoned by the woman he loved.

"Kuzey returns to his hometown with his three daughters. Yildiz swore to send him where he came from."

Besides showcasing her darker side, the actress has also immediately set her sights on Italian hunk Davide Sanclimenti.

The pair began flirting around the firepit with Ekin-Su asking to see Davide, 27, in the gym, as well as calling his current partner, Gemma Owen, her "little sister".

All of which left the 19 year old very "annoyed" with her retreating to the Beach Hut where she confessed: "She seems like a lovely girl but yeah, very forward. She's going to go for what she wants. Yeah, yeah that's annoyed me a bit.

"I'm sure she didn't mean it in like a bitchy way [calling her "little sister"] but I felt like it was a bit patronising."

Gemma added: "I am confident in myself. I know what I want and nine times out of ten, I do get what I want but this could be the one time difference."
