Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard CONFIRMED to star on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK

Just days after announcing he’ll be starring in panto this Christmas, Curtis Pritchard has already landed himself another job — despite still being holed up in the Love Island villa.

The ballroom dancer has been confirmed to starring on the upcoming first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

Curtis will appear alongside his brother, Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard, as dance coaches when the show hits screens this autumn.

The BBC announced the news on Wednesday, saying: “Appearing on screen together for the first time are dance and choreography superstar brothers, AJ and Curtis Pritchard, when they help the remaining queens with their dance skills for one of the challenges.”

They continued: “Together, the two brothers make for an impressive dance duo, and their previous experience with dance partners of mixed abilities make them the perfect, strictly professional coaches for the contestants of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.”

Speaking about his new role, Curtis said: “I jump at the chance of working with my brother anytime anything together comes up, so doing that and being asked to be part of something so iconic was a yes from me!”

AJ added: “I am such a fan of RuPaul and was honoured to be asked to work on the UK show. We had an amazing time working with the queens and cannot wait for you to see the performance.”

The network also announced that Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter MNEK will join the series as a vocal coach after writing hits for the likes of Beyonce, Kylie Minogue and Little Mix.

Curtis will join a long list of stars taking part in the show, which end with RuPaul crowing the UK’s first drag superstar.

Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, Spice Girls singer Geri Horner, Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall, actors Michaela Coel and Andrew Garfield and model Twiggy have all previously been announced as guest judges.

Cheryl is the latest name to join the panel, with a source telling The Sun: “Girls Aloud have had a massive impact on pop culture in the UK so telly bosses were desperate to get Cheryl involved.

“She jumped at the chance and recently visited the set to film as a guest judge. Cheryl gave her comments on contestants who performed a lip-sync to her 2012 No1 single Call My Name. Viewers will love it.”
