Love Island 2018 couples – who's split up and what's happened to Kaz and Josh?

Here's the lowdown on which couples have split since leaving the villa.

Which Love Island 2018 couples have split?

The Love Island final aired on Monday, July 30.

But who has remained as a couple since the show left our screens?

Here's a rundown of the couples who have split…

Josh and Kaz

In January 2019 Kaz Crossley and Josh Denzel split six months after finding love and coming third on the show.

Make-up artist Kaz broke the news to fans, telling them: “Sometimes things don’t go they way you planned, but you have to be grateful for the journey.

“Thank you for everything especially showing me how to love myself again.”

Josh appeared to confirm the news by posting an unhappy face underneath her image.

Kaz was a late arrival into the villa but had her eyes on Josh from the beginning.

Their romance was the hot topic after Josh famously ditched Georgia Steele for her.

By the end of the series they had declared their love for each other and looked set to be together forever.

Wes and Megan

Also in January 2019, Josh's best pal Wes Nelson split from his girlfriend Megan Barton Hanson.

On January 26, 2019 Megan released a statement on Instagram, mimicking that of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's infamous "conscious uncoupling".

She wrote: "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate.

"We haven't really conducted our relationship that privately and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner, love Megan and Wes."

Wes was of one of the original line up of Love Island 2018 and chose to couple up with air hostess Laura Anderson.

Model Megan joined the show as a late arrival and she made her move on Wes, a manoeuvre that lead to many memes and her nickname "Muggy Megan".

Georgia and Sam

Georgia Steel and Sam Bird, were inseparable after meeting in the villa but their relationship has come to an end.

In a statement posted on Twitter after they attended an ITV party together, Sam said: “I’m devastated to announce me and Georgia have split up for reasons I can't bring myself to comment on at the moment."

Georgia later confirmed the news and told her Instagram followers: “I'm very sad to say me and Sam have split.

“I will always care about him. However please understand this is a hard time for us both. Thank you.”

When Sam and Georgia left the ITV bash, it seemed there could have been tension between the pair.

Georgia walked out of the party in front of Sam and he looked miserable as he trailed behind her.

It was a marked difference to the pictures of them arriving where they grinned and posed for pictures on the hot pink carpet.

Charlie and Ellie

Ellie Brown had the nation behind her when she appeared to be falling for Dr Alex, however, she decided quickly that they had no sexual chemistry.

When Alex headed off to Casa Amor, Ellie enjoyed her freedom to get to know socialite Charlie Brake and they made their relationship official on July 2.

Although things seemed to be going well enough for the two to move in together after the villa, friends of the couple have been having trouble keeping up with their rocky relationship.

On August 14, we reported how Charlie was seen "flirting with several girls" on a night out clubbing without Ellie.

The couple also had another furious bust-up after he refused to say he loved her in front of their friends.

Then there was the fiery showdown after the Love Island reunion show where Charlie got "too drunk" during the live broadcast which left Ellie fuming.

Charlie retaliated by throwing Ellie's clothes out of the window after a row about him chatting up a girl on a plane.

On August 23, it emerged he had chucked her out of his house during another huge row and on September 25, the pair confirmed they were over.

Samira and Frankie

West End star Samira Mighty, 22, and business management student Frankie Foster, 22, were a late coupling.

For several weeks Samira had been in a platonic coupling with Dr Alex and then had a brief failed coupling with Sam.

When Frankie entered the villa late Samira's luck finally turned – but then he was voted off the show along with Grace Wardle.

Samira made the decision to leave the villa so she could be reunited with Frankie.

But on August 13, after just five weeks of dating, Samira dumped Frankie for cheating on her with another girl in a nightclub.

Alexandra and Dr Alex

Alexandra Cane, 27, and Dr Alex George, 27, split up while still in the villa.

They reached the final five but viewers voted them out after Dr Alex dumped Alexandra at the final hurdle.

Alex was the second boy to enter the villa but he had a difficult start to his time on Love Island because no one picked him.

He had unsuccessful couplings with Samira, Ellie Brown, and eventually Grace Wardle.

When Alexandra entered the villa it looked like his luck had turned – but his heart was never fully in the relationship.

Paul and Laura

Laura Anderson and Paul Knops didn't last long at all and split within a month of the show ending.

On September 11, just two months after leaving the villa, the Sun reported that the finalists had decided to split up.

A source close to the couple said: “Laura and Paul have been so busy since the show finished and both had holidays planned without each other – so they have ended up spending a lot of time apart.

“Paul went to Los Angeles for modelling work and on to Burning Man while Laura enjoyed some time back in Dubai lived before signing up to Love Island.

“They saw each other on Saturday night but only for a personal appearance and things weren’t the same between them so they have decided to cool off their romance.”
