LOUISE Redknapp has delayed her musical comeback with a "heavy heart" after posting cryptic messages about her marriage split.

The singer told fans she's pushing back her album release by three months.

The disappointing news comes in the same week Louise – who divorced husband Jamie in 2018 – posted a message on Instagram, which read: "Today my mom told me 'if your absence doesn't bother them then your presence never mattered to them in the first place' and I felt that."

She captioned it: "We all need a little reminder of this sometimes."

Former Strictly star Louise split from the football pundit after 18 years of marriage.

Since the break up she has been focusing on her career, with plans for the album to be released on October 18.

But today a disappointed Louise said: "To all my incredible fans, old and new, who've supported me in pre-ordering my new album Heavy Love.

"Due to clashes between my 9-5 touring schedule in October, and the fact that it means missing key promotional opportunities around the launch of the album; my record company has asked me to push back the album release date a little.

"This has not been an easy decision and I hate to let anyone down. Heavy Love has been two years in the making with blood, sweat and (a lot!) of tears and so I want to fully commit to its release and showing it off to to its fullest potential.

"With this in mind it feels like the right thing to do.

"As a small token of my appreciation for your continued support, I have a special song for you available for you to download on Friday. It's called Breaking Back Together and it's very dear to my heart. I hope you love it.

"The new release date for the album is the 17th of January 2020.

"I look forward to giving my all to the album and to you, my fans.

"Lots of love, Lou x."

Louise was forced to pull out from Dolly Parton's musical 9 to 5 in its first few weeks after suffering a horror fall that left her needing urgent treatment.

Louise suffered a fractured wrist and was left with a deep gash on her chin after tumbling on her way to rehearsals in London’s West End.
