One Direction star Louis Tomlinson capped off his return to TV talent show “The X Factor” with a win on Sunday night, December 02, after his pick, Dalton Harris, was named the latest champion in the U.K.

The Jamaican star, who many consider to be the most talented performer ever to grace the “X Factor” stage, beat Anthony Russell and Scarlett Lee to score a recording deal with Tomlinson’s mentor and fellow coach and judge Simon Cowell‘s label Syco Records.

All three acts performed during the finale at the SSE Arena in London, as did Nile Rodgers, Leona Lewis, and Ellie Goulding, while Take That staged a reunion with new “X Factor” judge Robbie Williams.

Coach Tomlinson spoke for Harris after emotions got the best of the singer after his win, telling viewers and the venue audience, “He’s been such a pleasure to work with, a true gentleman.”

The Jamaican singer was also joined by 2012 “X Factor” winner James Arthur for a powerful rendition of “Power of Love”.

“Singing alongside this guy, I had to show up,” Arthur said. “One of the reasons I got involved tonight was because of him. Years to come people will be clamouring to work with this guy.”

Tomlinson and his One Direction bandmates finished third on the “X Factor” back in 2010.
