Loose Women's Penny Lancaster breaks down in tears over Prince Charles

Things got surprisingly emotional on today’s (November 9) Loose Women – and it’s all thanks to the future King of England.

At the start of the programme, the panel were discussing the BBC’s recent documentary celebrating the Prince of Wales’ birthday, Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, which swiftly prompted Penny Lancaster to shed a tear or two.

As the loose ladies discussed whether the one-off special had changed their opinion of Prince Charles, Penny got visibly emotional.

Recounting her own experience with Charles, Penny called him one of the most “charming” men she had ever met. Holding back tears, Penny then told the panel: “I don’t like bullying.”

Despite the tears, today’s Loose Women was a more subdued affair following yesterday’s on-air clash between Nadia Sawalha and Carol McGiffin.

After disagreeing over whether it was appropriate for Nadia to wax her 11-year-old daughter’s upper lip, Nadia revealed: “Oops, the producers are in our ear shouting, ‘No more, no more’.

“I think it’s getting a bit too heated!”

Before their argument was cut short, Carol claimed that 11 was too early for someone to start ‘altering’ someone’s appearance.

Nadia hit back, saying that she didn’t want her child to feel self-conscious about her looks and that society judges women unfairly for having body hair.

Loose Women airs every weekday at 12.30pm on ITV.
