Loose Women descends into chaos as TV blunder ruins Denise Welch bedroom chat

Loose Women 's camera crew made a hilarious mistake during today's show when they confused Denise Welch with Ruth Langsford.

The Loose Women stars were instructed to share pictures of their private bedrooms with the studio, encouraging viewers to guess the panellist behind each room.

Saira Khan and Janet Street-Porter shared snaps of their own rooms before the live TV audience made their best effort to guess who the third bedroom belonged to.

An image of a sophisticated grey-and-orange room flashed on the screen, complete with plush pillows and a matching headboard.

Unfortunately, things went haywire when the production team suspected the room belonged to Denise, and aimed the camera toward her face.

Ruth bellowed: "No! Is it Denise's bed?"

Making it clear she was the Loose Women star behind the stylish bedroom, she added: "You wish. I absolutely love my bed."

Luckily, the cameramen got their act together and correctly angled the camera in Ruth's direction.

She explained: "It's the biggest bed in the world – I’m a selfish sleeper."

Denise's bedroom was later revealed as a messy hotel room, complete with an open suitcase and rumpled bedsheets.

The former Coronation Street star opened up about her relationship with her children earlier in the episode, admitting to embarrassing them on a regular basis.

Denise insisted she had left her sons – Matty and Louis Healy – red-faced plenty of times in the past, branding her Celebrity Big Brother appearance as the "peak".

Laughing over her son Louis' reaction to her antics, she recalled him saying: "My friends don’t think you’re funny – they think you’re tragic."

Luckily, Denise and the panellists saw the lighter side of things, as they wiped away tears of laughter before carrying on with the segment.

Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
