Line Of Duty fans it’s time to rejoice as it’s been confirmed series 6 will be arriving in March 2021.
Filming for the next chapter of Jed Mercurio’s beloved crime drama, starring Martin Compston, Adrian Dunbar and Vicky McClure, finally resumed in September after it was halted due to the pandemic.
And now there are just four(ish) short months to wait before viewers are reunited with AC-12.
The BBC had initially revealed series six would be on the way next year and, while the exact release date remains a mystery, at least we’ve got something to work with.
The corporation also revealed His Dark Materials, Doctor Who, and Call The Midwife are expected to air before the end of March, alongside Top Gear, Great British Sewing Bee, The Repair Shop, and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
Meanwhile, Sir David Attenborough’s five-part landmark series A Perfect Planet launches on BBC One in the New Year.
Mercurio has been busy sharing behind-the-scenes pictures from the set to whet appetites ahead of the new season.
Last month, he posted a ‘cryptic plot clue’ which featured an unidentifiable character stood outside a fruit warehouse – named Arnotts – wearing a hazmat suit.
The showrunner also delighted fans by sharing images of the cast enjoying themselves in-between takes.
But perhaps, most wholesome of all, was a video of Vicky, Adrian and Martin dancing, which we will be watching on repeat until series six drops. Sorry, not sorry.
Line Of Duty is available to stream on BBC iPlayer and Netflix.
