Lee Ryan defends Roxanne Pallett and questions if her 'lies' are down to 'mental health'

The Strictly Come Dancing star implored fans of the former Emmerdale actress to stop “ripping her apart” after she apologised for claiming Ryan had “punched her repeatedly” in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Lee made the comments on Instagram when he saw some of his followers discussing Roxanne.

He questioned whether she may have been suffering “paranoid delusions” and said that could have been why she believed she had “over exaggerated” the incident.

Lee added: “Not say what she did was right at all…but nor is kicking the s**t out of someone who is troubled and clearly needs professional help.”

The 35-year-old, who found fame with boyband Blue, also said he felt empathy for Roxanne’s experience.

He explained: “It’s awful and I’ve had it done to me in a similar way. But it’s still no ok for people to go at her lie this.

“What if she kills herself through the onslaught? Is that ok? It’s not, she’s not well.”

After appearing on The Jeremy Vine Show and speaking to CBB host Emma Willis in a pre-recorded interview yesterday, Roxanne has now decided to step out of the limelight.

She broke down in tears and said she believed she was “the most hated woman in Britain”.

Insiders told The Sun Online Roxanne would be taking some time out and she has since stepped down from her presenting job on Minster FM and from her role in Pantomime later this year.

A source explained: “Roxanne will turn her back on showbiz.

“She understands she's upset many people and wants to step out of the spotlight to focus on herself.

“There's no interest in anything to do with fame now.

“Roxanne is convinced time away is the best thing for her.”
