Lady Gaga glams up in a little black dress as she joins Emma Stone and Cate Blanchett at the Venice Film Festival

And the 32-year-old Bad Romance singer looked quite the classic film star as she floated down the canals on a taxi boat.

With her hair dressed up in high curls and her shiny legs draped over the side of the boat, the star looked like a mix of classic Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe crossed with Sharon Stone at her Basic Instinct best.

Gaga beamed as she dashed across the water – with a red flower clasped in her hand.

Once on dry land, the singer-turned-actress looked confident as she strutted through the streets of Venice in heels.

She wore a sultry black dress that showed off her toned legs and arms.

The singer – whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta – has been winning rave reviews for her film.

A Star Is Born is a modern remake of the 1930s original with Gaga joined on screen by Bradley Cooper.

The film has been hailed by critics as an “instant classic” – while Vulture reports a review that leaked before the official embargo lifted claimed the film to be the “greatest achievement in the history of cinema”.

Of course there is more to the 2018 Venice Film Festival than just Lady Gaga commuting on a boat – as a range of other stars have also descended on the Italian city to celebrate their work.

Emma Stone, 29, has been in town to drum up interest in her latest flick – The Favourite.

The film revolves around the rivalry to be favourite of Queen Anne – with Netflix’s The Crown star (and latest Queen Elizabeth II of the show) actress Olivia Colman playing the role.

The film also stars X Men star Nicholas Hoult and Taylor Swift's professional boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

While Rachel Weisz adds extra glamour to the cast as she plays Sarah Churchill.

Members of the cast arrived for the premiere in Venice on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Cate Blanchett looked elegant in white as she made a dash from the to attend the festival.

The 49-year-old Australian actress – who has a home in East Sussex with her husband Andrew Upton – has lashed out at the Brexit process.

Cate did not reveal if she was a Remainer or a Leave voter, but she said everyone should be fuming over the way the process is being handled.

“The rage I feel at the lazy incompetence of the men who set this in motion,” she despaired to Harper’s Bazaar.

“Whichever way you voted, you cannot but be disappointed in the way the architects of Brexit have behaved,” she added.
