A source told The Sun Online that the reality pair "never clicked" with the 25-year-old and "were always encouraging her to trade up."
Yesterday, we reported how Kourtney had dumped the model with the pair unfollowed each other on Instagram.
The insider said: "Younes clearly was not a fan of the fame, or the TV show – [the family] really had nothing in common with him and didn't 'get' him.
"He'd just be hanging around in the background waiting for Kourtney."
And it seems the Kardashian-Jenner clan couldn't help comparing Kourtney's new beau to her ex boyfriend Scott Disick.
The source said: "They all adored Scott, even with all the trouble he caused, because he was fun.
"He fitted in with the family, got the laughs, became part of the drama."
Younes seems to have already moved on from his famous beau and was yesterday snapped in Mexico cuddling up to model and "influencer" Jordan Ozuna.
According to People, Kim was particularly unimpressed with the pictures, commenting on a screenshot of Younes shared by The Shade Room.
She wrote: "Nice pics from your ‘boys trip.'" adding a Pinnochio emoji.
A source told TMZ that "it was Kourtney who pulled the plug on the relationship."
Some fans suspected there could be trouble between the pair when Younes recently left a sarcastic comment under a bikini snap of Kourtney which read: "Is that what you need to show to get likes."
Younes was Kourtney's first serious romance after her split with Scott back in 2015.
Scott has now moved on with Sofia Richie, 19.
