The former pop star relived the worst moment of her career during tonight’s celebration of This Morning’s 30-year anniversary.
Kerry – who was taking bipolar medication at the time – later admitted it has helped her be able to speak out about mental health.
Unable to watch the clip back, Kerry said: "That one interview on This Morning has haunted me ever since.
"Looking back it was a horrendous moment.
"Fern just said, 'are you an alcoholic?'"
"I'm glad it happened now because I can talk about mental health and addiction.
"I hated Phillip, hated Fern, hated ITV, hated This Morning, but now I love you."
Viewers were understandably concerned for Kerry following the interview when Fern said: "A lot of people say when you have addictive personality and give up one addiction it is replaced with another.
"Is it alcohol?"
Looking back, Fern explained: "That opened the gates of misunderstanding and upset.
"You don't intend to upset anybody, but I managed to."
