The former glamour model, 40, apparently met the high-profile chap after he begged their mutual friend for an introduction.
Katie initially recoiled at the thought of hooking up with "Mr X" – but the pair managed to strike up a relationship after a string of texting… and one thing led to another.
The star detailed their illicit affair – which took place in 2011 – in her 2016 autobiography Reborn.
She wrote: "In the flesh I instinctively knew I wasn't deeply attracted to Mr X but there was something intriguing about him.
"And I'm a sucker for a fit pair of legs and a muscular chest, and he had those in spades!
"But our first kiss? Hmmm… the sparks weren't exactly flying."
Katie says she didn't think much of Mr X's bedroom technique – comparing his lovemaking to that of a "a cordless drill on a multi-speed setting".
She wrote: "Put it this way: if I'd needed a shelving unit erected, he would have been the perfect man. Instead of handling me gently and passionately he was like a cordless drill on a multi-speed setting. Bang… bang… bang, bang, bang.
"At one point I started panicking thinking, "Sh**, if he doesn't stop soon, I'm going to be permanently attached to the bed!
"Mr X wasn't having sex with me. He was having sex at me."
Katie says she found out the truth about "Mr X" when her manager caught him with another woman at a hotel.
She wrote: "I received a text from my manager who was having a meeting in a Mayfair hotel. 'You're not going to like this, but guess who I've seen walking in?'
"It was Mr X, but it turned out he wasn't there on his own. He'd pulled up in a Limo and sauntered in draped around another woman."
She then dumped the man, and informed him she'd never given her an orgasm and that she'd slept with one of his mates after a party at her place… but she couldn't remember who.
She wrote: "His mates decided to party on and, to be blunt, it got to the point where I was too sh**-faced to care where Mr X had got to.
"Besides, in a certain light one of his friends looked quite fanciable…
"I had to go back through my security cameras to work out the finer details of the night and when I rewound to the part where we were naked in the kitchen, the grim reality came flooding back."
