Juliet receives shock test results in Hollyoaks as cancer storyline kicks off

Hollyoaks has revealed further details on Juliet Nightingale’s (Niamh Blackshaw) upcoming illness storyline, which was first revealed to audiences in the show’s latest trailer.

The first hints of the narrative, which sees Juliet learn that she might have cancer, will air on-screen later this week, as she asks Nadira Valli (Ashling O’Shea) to postpone a dinner with her dad.

Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell), meanwhile, makes another attempt to win back her ex-fiancée, and she ultimately succeeds in wowing her with her lucky dress.

But Juliet’s attention is soon elsewhere as her sickness persists, and thus she heads to the hospital. Peri is the one tasked with running her tests, and let’s just say that sparks fly between the two but, despite this, Juliet is intent on making the lunch with Nadira’s dad.

That is, until she returns to the hospital, where Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) delivers some concerning news, explaining that she’ll need a biopsy.

Nadira is fuming with Juliet for standing she and her dad up, and thus she wastes little time in confronting him about it.

Juliet, however, is not the right headspace for such a lecture and snaps as a result, leaving Nadira shocked.

Donna-Marie Quinn (Lucy-Jo Hudson), meanwhile, spots a text on Juliet’s phone and – realising that something is going on with Peri – believes that this is the reason for her daughter’s strange behaviour, unaware of what she’s really dealing with.

The worry of it all gets too much for Juliet and she breaks down to Misbah, who books her biopsy appointment for later that day. Nadira subsequently reveals that she’s rearranged dinner with her dad for tonight – but Juliet hides the truth from her.

Peri, meanwhile, wants to know what’s next, but Juliet snaps at her too, struggling to get her head around what she’s going through. She’s soon forced to answer some questions, however, when Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) finds a leaflet that she dropped previously.

Juliet then later heads to the hospital with Ste, as James (Gregory Finnegan) rushes to be by her side when Misbah reveals the results from the biopsy.

But just what will the results have found?

That remains to be seen, but afterwards, Jules pushes Peri away, telling her that she doesn’t want to be with her or Nadira. Ste takes it upon himself to reassure Peri after her knock-back, while James is there for Juliet, offering her some comfort.
