Emmerdale viewers were left distraught and confused tonight after Joe Tate was seemingly killed.
Joe was knocked unconscious after being punched in the face by Cain Dingle, but fans were led to believe that Graham Foster may have finished him off.
The impact of the punch knocked Joe off his feet and he whacked his head on a rock, leaving blood pouring from his nose.
Emotionless Graham revealed that the closest person he had to a son had no pulse and was dead.
Cain was shocked by how robotic Graham was as he cradled Joe on the Home Farm driveway, then realised he had a gun to kill his former boss.
Graham put lifeless Joe in the boot of his car, but there was another shock twist.
He saw Joe’s fingers start to twitch, confirming he wasn’t dead just yet, just as a police car and ambulance arrived after Kim was attacked.
Graham then drove to the viaduct, the place where Emma Barton was killed by Moira.
In the next scene, he was seen returning to his car after seemingly murdering injured Joe and dumping his body.
Graham, who is usually emotionless, suddenly broke down in tears in a heartbreaking moment.
Distraught Graham started shouting in anger as he smashed his fists against the steering wheel.
Is Joe dead? And will Graham let Cain believe he killed him?
Bizarrely, Graham’s shocking actions may actually have been a mercy.
Vicious Kim Tate threatened to call Vincent to torture Joe before brutally murdering him.
She convinced Graham that he should do the deed by claiming he could do it quickly and painlessly.
Graham had been heading out of Home Farm to find Joe with a gun when Cain stepped out in front of the car.
Did Graham do Kim’s bidding? Or did he find compassion for Joe?
Joe wasn’t the only casualty of the evening, as step-gran Kim was sent crashing down to the floor.
The evil villain, who wanted Joe dead, didn’t expect to be fighting for her own life.
She let out a piercing scream as she fell into a champagne fountain after being shoved by a mystery attacker.
Charity, Noah and Faith are the prime suspects as they were all missing at the time of the attack.
But the doctor did confirm that Kim had survived her fall.
It was also revealed that Ross was the person hit over the head with a rock after a scramble with Simon.
Ross and acid attacker Simon desperately wrestled to grab Moira’s phone, which contained a recording of the drug dealer’s confession.
Poor Ross was seen being wheeled into an ambulance after being attacked by Simon for the second time.
Luckily he was seen awake and well in his hospital bed and the police confirmed they had arrested Simon.
*Emmerdale airs on Friday night on ITV at 7pm
