Jeremy Vine cringes as Ryan Thomas is ‘punched’ by Rory Bremner

Jeremy Vine was left cringing today after guest Ryan Thomas received a ‘fake punch’ from guest panelist Rory Bremner.

The former Coronation Street star, who was crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother on Monday, became embroiled in a media storm during his time in the house after being accused by ex-Emmerdale star Roxanne of punching her repeatedly and intentionally .

Appearing on Jeremy’s Channel 5 show today, he was shown the footage of the incident and him breaking down in the Diary Room.

However impressionist Rory admitted that he had no idea about what had happened.

"I don’t know anything about this," he told Ryan, who then began to explain.

Rory then jokingly gave him a punch to the shoulder, before saying: "Oh, sorry!"

"Too soon, too soon," Jeremy reprimanded him.

During the interview, Ryan struggled not to cry as he was faced with the footage for the first time. He also admitted that he never wanted to see Roxanne Pallett ever again.

Ryan had insisted that he had only been play fighting, with camera footage supporting his claims.

In heartbreaking scenes, he was seen breaking down in the Diary Room multiple times, leading for calls for the producers to show his fellow housemates the footage.

Ryan, who was given a formal warning by Big Brother for the ‘altercation’, has been backed by floods of co-stars and girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh.

Roxanne quit the show after hearing her name booed. She later admitted she "got it wrong" and apologised to him.

Speaking on Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 show today, he said that the win is "a bit of a blur" to him, adding: "I don’t really know what’s going on. I was there with a Hollywood movie star!"

However Ryan was left struggling when he was asked about the incident, saying: "It caught us all by surprise… something in that house, it makes you become isolated."

He was then faced with the footage of the "punch", followed by a clip of him crying in the Diary Room.

"I’ve not seen any of that back, it’s just strange," Ryan said as he choked back the tears.

Ryan added: "You don’t have any idea of what’s going on when you’re in, that’s just a tiny bit of your journey… people don’t realise what Big Brother is… everything is heightened in there. "

He then watched the apology Roxanne had made while she was on the show.

Asked whether he could forgive her, he echoed his words to Emma Willis after his win: "I think that Roxanne has been through a lot, Big Brother makes headlines and sometimes for the wrong reason. I accept Roxanne’s apology and i think that she’s suffered enough and I don’t want to be a part of that."

But when questioned whether he would see her again, he said: "There’s nothing to say and I don’t want to see her again. My family’s priority, no offense to Roxanne."

This comes after Ryan said that he will try to forgive Roxanne over ‘punchgate’, adding that she had been "punished enough".

Speaking to host Emma after the win, he was asked whether he would be able to forgive the former Emmerdale actress.

He said: "If she wants forgiveness and it makes her feel better I would rather give her that and I think she’s been punished enough by the public."

Ryan was also finally shown the footage of the incident, which he had described as "totally unexpected" and that he had felt like a "scared little boy" after the accusations.

He also revealed that he had wanted to "get out" of the house, but hearing the public chanting his name had allowed him to relax.

Ryan added that he could forgive Roxanne for what she had done and said that she had been "punished enough".

He told Emma: "It was totally unexpected, it was a sign of affection that I’ve used on Gabby, the boys, unexpected because it was nothing.

"The thing that scared me the most was when Ben told me that she couldn’t stay in the same room as me," he said, referring to himself as a "scared little boy".

Ryan said that after the accusations he said that he "held onto Sally" and that he "couldn’t do it without her".

His win comes after a difficult few weeks after he was controversially accused of deliberately punching Roxanne .

The soap actress later quit CBB and admitted that she had "got it wrong" and "massively apologised" for her accusations.

Roxanne had been under an avalanche of fury after accusing Ryan of ‘punching her five or six times’ and deliberately intending to harm her.

She was universally criticised for her controversial behaviour inside the CBB house.

The reality TV star tried to turn her CBB housemates against Ryan and insisted he should have been removed from the house.

Her name was heavily booed by the audience when presenter Emma read out her name during the live eviction and there were audible chants of "get Roxy out".

After hearing the public reaction and watching close friend Ben Jardine leave the house, Roxanne retreated to the Diary Room to reveal her decision to walk out.

Since seeing the footage, Ben has condemned Roxanne’s actions and hit out at her "disgraceful lies" .
