Jeopardy! fans slam host Mayim Bialik for making the same error TWO days in a row | The Sun

JEOPARDY! fans have slammed host Mayim Bialik for making the same mistake two days in a row.

Viewers have been insisting that Ken Jennings, who is also competing for the role of permanent host, wouldn’t have made the errors she did.

Shortly into Tuesday’s new episode of Jeopardy!, Mayim seemed to accept an answer that wasn’t fully correct.

The clue given read: “Celebrity ‘Jeopardy!’ pitted Lloyd Bridges III (aka Beau) against Coy Perry III (aka Luke), Dylan McKay on this Fox drama.”

Reigning champ Yungsheng answered: “What is 90210?”

Mayim accepted that response, though the full title wasn’t given, even adding it in for him, saying: “Yes, Beverly Hills, 90210.”

Fans were upset over this because while the popular 90s series is often referred to as simply 90210, there was also a spinoff with that title that aired on The CW.

On social media, Mayim was blasted for not asking Yungsheng to be more specific with his answer before accepting it.

One angry Jeopardy! fan slammed: “What the heck!!! The show was not named 90210. Way to just let that one slide Mayim!”

Another explained: “90210 and Beverly Hills, 90210 are two different shows.”

A third insisted: “So dude shouldn’t have gotten the money for answering ‘90210’ because that wasn’t the series that had Dylan McKay as a character. It was Beverly Hills, 90210.”

“Again, the host butted in and said, ‘that's right Beverly Hills 90210,’ a fourth angry fan wrote.

They added: “That wasn't what he said. He was wrong. She is a terrible host and I am about to abandon Jeopardy.”

Others said that the late Alex Trebek “would never let a contestant get points by giving only a partial answer” and slammed Mayim for doing it “all the time” instead of telling contestants to be specific.

Some pointed out that the Big Bang Theory alum had even done it just the day before.

“Similar to the Bush question yesterday, it seems it's left ambiguous with that response,” one fan wrote.

During Monday’s episode, a contestant named Eleanor was given the clue: “A memorable 2018 photo showed this president’s flag-draped casket, with his service dog Sully beside it.”

She answered simply: “Who is Bush?”

To which Mayim replied: “Yes, George H. W. Bush.”

While only George H. W. Bush has passed, and George W. Bush is still alive, fans were upset that Mayim didn’t ask Eleanor to be more specific.

As contestants have often incorrectly guessed that various people of interest were dead when they were still very much alive, viewers said that could’ve been the case this time, as well.

No matter what, if there are multiple possible responses with the same shortened answer, fans think Mayim should always request a more detailed reply from players.

With the host failing to do so twice in a row now, one upset fan blasted: “Mayim has YET AGAIN accepted a simple answer like ‘who is Bush’ in regards to a president.

“FFS, are the judges watching AT ALL?!?”

Another said: “‘Who is Bush?’ is a *textbook* example of a ‘Be more specific’ contestant response.”

A third insisted: “To be clear, a proper host would’ve required more information specify which bush she was referring to.. #Jeopardy – real fans know that.”
