Jenna Bush Hager Announces a New Book Club — and Her First Pick

If you’ve been missing Oprah’s Book Club more than usual lately, Jenna Bush Hager is coming to your rescue. The soon-to-be Today co-host announced Wednesday that she is starting a new book club for the show’s viewers, #ReadWithJenna.

“I love to read. My mom was a librarian, so it’s basically in my DNA,” Hager said on the show. “Well, we wanted to share that passion.”

Hager also announced the first monthly selection for the book club, Tara Conklin’s The Last Romantics. The novel, from the bestselling author of 2013’s The House Girl, follows the story of four siblings over 20 years as they grapple with a family tragedy.

“I love book recommendations from my family and friends,” Hager said. “So to have that same community with the Today show viewers I think is going to be really fun.”

After Wednesday’s announcement, The Last Romantics shot up to No. 4 on Amazon, ahead of Michelle Obama’s Becoming and others; before the selection was announced, it wasn’t even in the top 100.

Today‘s Instagram page will also serve as a discussion hub for the book club, posting “thought-provoking conversation starters” to allow readers to engage with a larger community. You can find more information at the Today show’s website.
