Jason Gardiner hits out at ‘appalling’ Gemma Collins after Dancing On Ice row

Jason Gardiner has taken to Twitter to lambaste Gemma Collins’ "appalling" behaviour after they rowed on Dancing On Ice.

The Australian choreographer retreated to the countryside and snubbed Tuesday’s National Television Awards in London so he could take a break from the spotlight.

The judge, 47, had been accusing of ‘body-shaming’ and ‘bullying’ by some DOI viewers, as well as Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan.

Jason and TOWIE star Gemma, 37, have been in a war of words after he labelled her "lazy" in a newspaper interview on Saturday.

The following day, Gemma blamed her lack of rehearsal time on being upset over media reports, and accused him of "selling stories" on her.

Her pro-skating partner Matt Evers fuelled rumours when he claimed Jason had organised the interview himself without consulting the ITV press team.

However, taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Jason wrote: "Back in the real world… Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support I’ve received. I am overwhelmed by it. Faith has been restored as we stand united against such appalling behaviour! #honestjudge #KeepItReal #TruthPrevails."

When one follower accused him of selling stories, Jason replied: "Matt is uninformed and propagating lies to try and defame my character. For the record @ITV knew about The Sun interview and have emails to prove it. I have an incredible PR agent who informs @itvpresscentre about every interview I give. #DontBelieveSh*te #honestjudge."

Meanwhile, American skater Matt has since apologised, tweeting: "Always own up to your mistakes! I just want to say sorry to Jason as today on Heart FM I intimated he sold stories to a newspaper. I totally got my wires crossed and I apologise. It’s been one hell of a 24 hours!"

Gemma and Matt’s performance on Sunday was largely panned after she revealed she hadn’t rehearsed much that week.

Giving her a 3.0, Jason explained: "Gemma I know you were channeling Marilyn but we ended up with Anna Nicole Smith and that was because there wasn’t any elegance.

"You were all over the place hun and Ashley (Banjo) said there’s not enough skating content still. This is your second skate now; you need to up the ante because we’re not going to see big lifts from you; we’re not going to get any impressive moves."

Furious Gemma ranted: "Can I just say one thing? Maybe if you didn’t sell stories on me, maybe I wouldn’t have been so upset this week. So take that. Boring. Next. Don’t sell stories on me. Don’t sell stories on me. Please don’t sell stories on me."

Despite her disappointing skills, bookmakers believe Gemma will hang on for another few weeks, giving her 5/1 odds of being the next to leave the ice.

Current favourite to be voted off next is Loose Woman Saira Khan, who was in the skate-off last weekend.
