Jamie Redknapp splits from Louise Redknapp lookalike Lizzie Bowden after deciding they weren’t ‘compatible’ – The Sun

IT was always going to be tough for Jamie Redknapp to move on from ex-wife Louise — even after being linked to a string of women.

And despite a promising start, I can reveal the Sky Sports pundit — who turns 46 today — has split from model Lizzie Bowden.

It comes after Louise, who was married to Jamie for 19 years until 2017, said the comparisons between her and lookalike Lizzie were “weird”.

Jamie has told friends he is focusing on his family and work commitments, and wants to wait before settling down again. A source close to the ex-footballer said: “Jamie enjoys Lizzie’s company, but feels they are too different to pursue anything long-term.

“His priority is his two sons and career, and he wants to hold out on finding the right woman to settle down with. He has a strong group of mates and a healthy social life so he is enjoying spending time with them.”

The Sun revealed in April that Jamie and Lizzie had enjoyed a date at Annabel’s club in London’s posh Mayfair.

It was believed to be the first woman he had hooked up with since his divorce from Eternal singer Louise, now appearing in West End musical, 9 To 5.

At the time, a source said: “Jamie has bided his time out of courtesy to Louise.”

Just a month later, I reported Jamie had been chatting up gorgeous women at a Baftas after-party. They had made a beeline for the League Of Their Own star, who was enjoying the attention.

I’m beginning to see why it didn’t work out with Lizzie.

Cardi's the clout and out winner

CARDI B strutted her stuff at the BET Awards in Los Angeles and no wonder she was feeling confident – she picked up two awards.

The rapper won Album Of The Year for Invasion Of Privacy and Best Female Hip Hop Artist.

During a performance of Clout, with her rapper husband Offset, Cardi wore this glittering bodysuit and gave him a saucy lap dance.

She later partied with Rihanna, who presented Mary J Blige with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Before the ceremony, Riri joined Mary for a singalong of her 2005 hit Be Without You.

Glitz Zara's time to shine

ZARA Larsson her inner disco ball in the video for her summer pop anthem All The Time.

The Swede wowed in this shimmering bodysuit in a sexy behind-the-scenes snap. I’m not surprised she decided to have a lie down. As well as putting the finishing touches to her second album, Zara is out on the road fresh off the back of a sold-out tour.

Over the next few weeks she will travel across Europe gigging with Ed Sheeran, before heading to Miami to play at the iHeartRadio festival on September 21.

It’s making me tired just thinking about it.

X Factor's Scarlett Lee accidentally told fans she was married.

When one asked if she’d wed in a pink dress, she wrote on Instagram “I did” but later clarified: “I’m the dumb person who said ‘I did’ instead of ‘I did get it made’.”

Dick pop at Julie

JULIE Andrews won an Oscar as Mary Poppins – but her co-star Dick Van Dyke reckons Emily Blunt did a better job. The veteran actor said Emily’s portrayal in last year’s sequel Mary Poppins Returns was more faithful to the one in PL Travers’ books.

At the VIP grand opening of LA music lounge Feinstein’s At Vitello’s, Dick said: “What I liked about Emily was she read all the Mary Poppins books and her characterisation is more what Travers intended.

“Blunt caught the real Mary Poppins. She was loving with the kids but was stern and a disciplinarian.”

I hope Julie comes out and defends herself.

Musical to Carl's ears

THE Libertines frontman Carl Barat has been invited to join the cast of West End musical Rock Of Ages after producers learned he studied drama at university.

When host Gordon Smart told him the news on Red Stripe Presents: This Feeling TV, he said: “Oh wow. This is a beautiful thing. I’m touched. This could be my big break.”

Though Carl did go on to clarify he will be doing more of what he does best – making music.

He added: “Dates are in the diary to make our fourth studio album. We’ve done a few writing sessions already but we’re going to sort of bed-in.”

TAYLOR Swift has applied to trademark her cat’s name, Benjamin Button, after he appeared in her ME! video.

It would allow the singer to use the name on merchandise.

It sounds like mourning glory, Liam

AS the frontman of Oasis, Liam Gallagher had every reason to swagger, thanks to a legion of fans and a lorry-load of hits. But the once great rocker looked a shadow of his former self when he made a baffling appearance on the BBC’s Six O’Clock news last night, painfully attempting to justify his reinvention as a tribute act to the Manchester rockers without the brains of the operation – brother Noel.

The classic hits were, he insists, written for “a band called Oasis”. Indeed.

In an inexplicable judgment by Beeb bosses, Liam appeared on the flagship show to promote his latest lacklustre solo efforts ahead of a slot at the Glastonbury Festival this weekend – but totally missed the point when asked about his own status in rock history.  Also tellingly absent from the broadcast was any scrutiny of horrifying CCTV footage unearthed by The Sun last year which showed him lunging at his girlfriend during a boozy night out.

It’s hard to say which is more unsavoury – Liam’s desperation to cling on to former glories or the BBC’s willingness to act as his cheerleader. Y’know what I mean?

SACHA Baron Cohen was schooled by an FBI interrogator before interviewing former murder suspect OJ Simpson for his TV show Who Is America?. He posed as an Italian billionaire in an “absurdly ambitious” attempt to get a murder confession from the ex-American football player. Sacha said: “If he’s ever going to admit it, it would be in a hotel room where he thinks he’s going to earn a lot of money.”

LGBTQ become one

MEL C has been flying the flag for the Spice Girls – and the LGBTQ community – in Brazil.

The singer wore this metallic bra and black leggings as she performed draped in a rainbow flag at a parade in Sao Paulo a week after the girls wrapped up their UK gigs. She may soon be jetting off Down Under too, as the group look set to add more dates to their tour.

A source said: “Offers have been made and they are all very good. They have been in discussions for a while.” It comes after Mel B told fans at their final gig in London: “We’ll see you in February in Australia.”

Now they need to put their money where their mouth is.

Foals Glasto goals

FOALS failed to bag a headline slot at Glastonbury this weekend but fans are in luck.

The Brit rockers have been secretly booked for a surprise set on Saturday afternoon, currently scheduled for Park Stage.

There had been a suspicious Glastonbury- shaped hole in their latest tour schedule, with a gig in Kingston, South West London, on Thursday and a gap of four days before the next in Dublin.

Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis has previously said they “would love to go back” following their performance there in 2016, which they got rave reviews for.
