James 'Arg' Argent insists girlfriend Gemma Collins won't quit Dancing on Ice

The Only Way Is Essex‘s James ‘Arg’ Argent has insisted that girlfriend Gemma Collins is in Dancing on Ice for the long haul.

Rumours had swirled in recent days that The GC would quit after tabloid reports claimed she threw a strop in training.

A spokesperson for the show denied the reports, however, telling Digital Spy: “There is absolutely no truth to this story. Gemma is loving being on the show and we love having her.”

Arg has now weighed in, showing support for his other half with a picture of the pair on Instagram, adamant that she is “not a quitter”.

“I can’t wait to watch my @gemmacollins1 on this years @dancingonice @itv,” he wrote. “She is working so bloody hard & giving it her everything in training! She’s not a quitter, She’s gonna prove certain doubters wrong & I can’t wait!”

Gemma was the first celebrity to be announced for the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice, revealing the news on This Morning earlier this month.

“I know how hard it is,” she said at the time. “I’ve done my research, Phil – I am scared, I am nervous, I don’t know how they’re going to lift me up and how fast I can move around the ice, but I really want to give it a go.

“I love the costumes, I want the fun factor. I just really want to give this a go!”

The other celebrities for next year’s series are Love Island‘s Wes Nelson, X Factor star Saara Aalto, Grease actress Didi Conn, Coronation Street‘s Jane Danson, Neighbours‘ Mark Little, Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, Loose Women‘s Saira Khan, former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan, Westlife singer Brian McFadden, and former EastEnders star Richard Blackwood.

Dancing on Ice returns next year on ITV.
