ITV’s future as Ant McPartlin returns and Holly Willoughby leaves I’m A Celeb

The future of ITV has been revealed as two fan favourites get to work.

The broadcaster had to make a lot of changes this year when Ant McPartlin stepped down from his presenting duties following his drink-drive charge.

Following his arrest, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway was taken off the air for one week, and the following week, his best pal Dec Donnelly returned to host alone.

Dec also went solo for the Britain’s Got Talent live shows.

But when it came to the most recent series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, bosses brought in This Morning’s Holly Willoughby to co-host alongside old pal Dec.

Holly said from the very beginning that she wasn’t filling Ant’s shoes, but just keeping them warm for a bit.

And now, it seems that normal service will be resuming in 2019.

Geordie star Ant will soon be back to work on the new series of Britain’s Got Talent.

Earlier this month, Mirror Online revealed that Ant would be back on our screens in the spring.

An insider revealed: "Ant has been working with ITV bosses to get a date in the diary for his return.

"He’ll be back filming with Dec and Stephen Mulhern for BGT in mid-January – it’s sure to be an emotional reunion for them all."

And it looks like things will go back to normal for Holly as well.

She’ll soon return to This Morning and Dancing On Ice alongside her regular co-host Phillip Schofield.

The star also confirmed that she won’t be heading back Down Under for the next series of I’m A Celeb.

Speaking for the first time since she returned to the UK, Holly said: "It’s definitely business as usual. This was a one off, once in a lifetime adventure."

Asked if there was room to join as a trio on the show next year, Holly added: "I just don’t think it’s even an option. I’m not even thinking about that. I’ll be at home with everyone else having a glass of wine watching it as everyone else is.

"That’s what I was most jealous of, here I am standing here when you’re all drinking red wine in front of the fire."
