Though Meghan Markle has been in the public eye for some time, her relationship and subsequent marriage to Prince Harry elevated her celebrity in a major way. Now, Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland is also a staple in the press. The 62-year-old was living a quiet life in Los Angeles even when her daughter was soaring on Suits as the zippy and smart Rachel Zane. These days, Ragland can’t even go to Target without the paparazzi snapping pictures of her.
In May 2018, Ragland sat teary-eyed watching her only child exchange vows with Prince Harry, but is the soon-to-be grandmother secretly engaged herself?

Is Doria Ragland engaged?
Though many people thought Ragland would spend the holidays with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in the United Kingdom, the avid yogi opted to remain home in LA. It looks like she has an excellent reason for doing so. Recently, the former social worker was spotted with a mystery man, and it seems like the pair are more than just friends. An onlooker told Women’s Day, “He was opening doors for her and was very attentive. He had a big smile on his face when he was with her – they looked like they were a couple.”
The onlooker also noted that Ragland sported a diamond ring on that finger. An insider close to the duchess’ mom revealed, “Doria has always been independent, but of course she would love to find the perfect partner – and it looks like that may have already happened.”
Does Meghan Markle’s mother have a royal title?
When Markle wed Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth II gave her an official royal title, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex. However, that did not extend to Ms. Ragland. That could all change once Prince Charles becomes King of England and the line of succession shifts and changes. Though the royals are becoming more modern, it’s unlikely that Ragland would receive a title if she remains single. However, if she is engaged to this mystery man, she could potentially become a countess or a lady.
Duchess Kate Middleton’s parents, Michael and Carol Middleton don’t have royal titles either.

Does Doria Ragland live with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry?
Markle is extremely close to her mother. In various interviews, the duchess said of her mom, “For me to watch this level of lifelong sensitivity to nurturing and caregiving, but at the same time, my mum has always been a free spirit. She’s got dreadlocks and a nose ring. She just ran the LA Marathon. We can just have so much fun together, and yet, I’ll still find so much solace in her support.”
Since Ragland clearly has her own life, it looks like she’s content to live in Los Angeles far away from her daughter. However, with a new grandchild on the way, and Markle and Prince Harry’s massive estate at Frogmore House, we’re sure that Ragland will be more than thrilled to spend extended periods in the U.K. Perhaps she’ll even bring her new love with her.
