Is Bex Fowler leaving EastEnders for good?

In previous scenes on EastEnders, Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) made plans to leave Walford to go travelling and leave the baggage of the Square behind.

Bex has been involved in some pretty tough storylines during her time on the soap, including a suicide attempt, bullying and pill addiction, so it’s little wonder that she’s keen for a fresh start.

However, mum Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) wasn’t best pleased, and even resorted to hiding her daughter’s passport in a bid to keep her around.

Is Bex really going to be saying goodbye to Walford, or will she choose to stay with her family in the end?

Is Bex leaving EastEnders?

Actor Jasmine has indeed previously confirmed that she’s leaving the soap after having played Bex for five years.

Earlier this year, she filmed her final scenes, which means it can’t be too long now before she exits the Square.

In February, Bex’s exit storyline was revealed to be centred about her decision to go travelling for a year.

On the subject of her exit, Jasmine said: ‘I’ve had such a fantastic time playing Bex Fowler and loved being part of EastEnders but now feels like the right time to try something new.’

Jon Sen, Executive Producer, said: ‘It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Jasmine. She’s brought something incredibly special to the role of Bex and we will all miss her – both as a friend and colleague. We wish her the best of luck for the future.’

EastEnders continues tonight at 8:30pm on BBC One.
